Unity Statement

To prevent transmission and lower the COVID - 19 cases, all of us have to stay at home. However, with the joining forces of this preventive measure, technology, habits, and diet patterns, a health issue can potentially threaten the cardiovascular system.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) take the lives of 17.9 million people every year, 31% of all global deaths. Triggering these diseases – which manifest primarily as heart attacks and strokes – are tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and the harmful use of alcohol. These in turn show up in people as raised blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, and overweight and obesity risks detrimental to good heart health.

On behalf of the dreams of children and farmers for their family, we are reaching out to you to help in a campaign we are running: "Read to Succeed." This initiative caters to children in school and out of school to help them with their studies, especially today, with the COVID pandemic pushing the education system to transition its approach from classroom to online or home-based education. How many of them will still be trying to reach for their dreams and be like one of those children and young people who are fortunate and privileged enough, who are in school with allowances and equipped with computers, smart phones, and school supplies but are taking it for granted?
